MENASHA (NBC 26) — All tenants in a Menasha apartment complex were displaced after a fire, according to the local fire department.
Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue responded Wednesday to reports of smoke and flames outside of the building and hallway at a 24 unit residential complex on Third Street.
Crews located the fire in the basement of the complex, which was quickly extinguished. Firefighters found the fire had spread to the apartments above the basement area and crews worked to extinguish fires in the walls and void areas of the apartments on both the first and second level of the complex.
Fire officials said they had to bring in additional personnel to assist on scene and support additional calls for service in the Neenah-Menasha area. Crews were on scene for several hours. Investigation into the fire is currently on-going.
All the people who lived in the building were displaced by the fire. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced tenants, who are currently staying at a hotel in Neenah. No one reported being hurt from the fire.
