GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- A special meeting was held Friday to help support farmers in Northeast Wisconsin.

UW-Extension Brown, Kewaunee, Door, Marinette, Oconto, Outagamie, and Shawano Counties came together to host "Supporting Farmers During Challenging Times" at the Tundra Lodge in Green Bay.

There were speakers to help farmers facing the stress of low prices, and unpredictable weather, which are taking their toll on state farmers.

"We're losing quite a few farms. Close to 2 a day. It's been a trend. And I think this trend may continue," said Sarah Grotjan, UW-Extension Dairy Livestock Educator.

There were sessions talking about risk management and transitioning to new chapters after farming and how changing weather patterns are affecting farming.
