PULASKI (NBC 26) -- 344 workers will be affected by what Marquis Yachts says is a temporary closure.

In a WARN notice to the state, Marquis Yachts has provided formal notice of a workforce reduction at its Pulaski location: 790 Markham Drive.

Marquis Yachts is calling the closure temporary as the company looks for a potential buyer. This reduction is expected begin on March 1.

DWD and its regional partner, the Bay Area Workforce Development Board, will offer rapid response services to the company and the affected workers.

The company says it is looking to shore-up long-term financing to permit continued operations. As the effort to negotiate a sale of the company continues, Marquis Yachts says the company is working with limited financial resources to continue operations through March 1.

Marquis Yachts says if it's able to close the sale of the business with a new buyer by the end of February, then there will be no shut down.
