MARINETTE COUNTY, Wis. — Marinette County passed a resolution Tuesday opposing the legalization of recreational marijuana.

In the language of the resolution, the Marinette County Board of Supervisors listed several reasons for opposing legal recreational weed, saying marijuana has negative impacts on youth development, mental health, and on the workforce.

The resolution states that the Marinette County Board of Supervisors have directed the County Clerk to forward a copy of the resolution to Governor Tony Evers and other state and county leaders.

The resolution, labeled No. 512-19, passed 20 to 8, with two people absent.
