Manitowoc police search for dog, owner after dog bite incident

MANITOWOC (NBC 26) — Law enforcement are asking the public for help finding a dog and its owner after a dog bit incident that happened Saturday between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.

Manitowoc police said the incident happened in the area of E. Cedar Dr. and Holly Dr. near the Stangel Learning Community Center, also known as the old Stangel Elementary building.

According to the Manitowoc Police Department, a man was walking his dog on E. Cedar Dr. when he was approached by a possible Lab and Boxer mix that was darker in color. The gender and collar color are both unknown.

Police said the suspect dog came from the area of the condos and apartments to the north of E. Cedar Dr. The suspect dog lunged at the victim's dog and eventually bit the victim before running off to the north, where the man lost sight of the dog.

The Manitowoc Police Department is trying to identify the suspect dog and the owner to get rabies vaccination information for medical treatment of the victim.
