MANAWA (NBC 26) — With kids back in school, fall sports will also be starting up.
Tuesday night, the Manawa School District decided they will be allowing fans to attend games, but only if you have a ticket. Based on social distancing guidelines and recommendations, the district is limiting who can show up to football and volleyball games. Those competitions are set to begin September 7, and kids back in school for their first day September 8.
During a virtual meeting Tuesday, district members said the tickets will be available for players' families, as well as coaches. There will also be a lottery system in place for students who want to go and cheer on their classmates. Based on recommendations, visiting teams will not have access to those tickets; the district adds that's something many schools in the conference are doing.
For those who can't attend in person, the district said they've hired a company to help live-stream the games so you can still watch, but from the comfort of your own home.
