GREEN BAY, Wis. — A suspect is in custody after a hit-and-run crash that left a man with life-threatening injuries in Green Bay.

A 26-year-old man was crossing the intersection at Dousman and Broadway Streets around 10 p.m. Wednesday when he was hit by a car.

The car drove off but a witness was able to see what happened.

"An uninvolved witness actually followed the suspect vehicle and reported its location to officers responding," said Lt. Brad Strouf with the Green Bay Police Department. "Officers were able to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle and the driver was taken into custody."

A 20-year-old Green Bay resident was arrested for OWI Causing Great Bodily Harm as well as Hit and Run Causing Injury.

The intersection was reopened to normal traffic.

The investigation is ongoing.
