FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Fond du Lac Police were called to a residence after receiving a false 911 call.
Authorities say the incident happened around 10p.m. Friday on the 100 block of 3rd Street.
The man calling reported that another man was inside the basement with a gun, holding a woman hostage.
Police say the phone line disconnected. The 911 center then called the number back, but it went straight to voicemail.
Officers arrived at the scene, set up a perimeter around the home and blocked off the area.
The Fond du Lac Police Department SWAT team was then called to the scene and made contact with four occupants. Police took them into custody for questioning.
The SWAT team searched the residence, but did not find any victims or others inside the home.
Police say the suspect who made the false 911 call is a 27-year-old man from Fond du Lac. Officers tracked him down and arrested him at a home on 100 block of East 1st Street.
Authorities say the man is currently being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on numerous charges.
