OCONTO COUNTY (NBC 26) -- Back in May, an Oconto County man had a heart attack while driving. Thanks to the only Sheriff’s deputy in the whole county with an AED - a device used to jump start your heart - he lived through that horrible event. On Thursday, he paid it forward.

Marv Andree and his wife dawn presented the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office with six brand new AED devices. In the 19 weeks since Marv’s heart attack, the couple has raised over $8,000 so that they can begin equipping every deputy on the road with the lifesaving equipment that Marv and his wife credit with him still being here.

“This isn’t about me, this is about the next guy or lady that needs that AED,” said Marv. “And it’s not there and we want to make sure it is there, because you cannot put a value on somebody’s life.”

Marv and his wife are going to continue campaigning for 14 additional AED’s for the department until every squad car has one. If you want to contribute, there’s a fund set up at the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office.
