DE PERE (NBC 26) -- A De Pere 5-year-old with a rare neurological condition received his wish to be a construction worker thanks to Make-A-Wish Wisconsin.

The child, Dominic Filippini, is living with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a severe neurological disease that makes him prone to seizures.

On Friday morning, a large Miron Construction truck picked Dominic up at his home to escort him to a construction site at West De Pere Intermediate School.

Dominic got to go for a ride around the job site in a dump truck, as well as sit in the excavator and assist the operator with some digging. Dominic also got to work with the concrete crew to pour a small concrete slab, where Dominic and his sister were able to put their handprints in the concrete. Dominic also got to sit in the crane and assist the operator with setting a piece of steel.

On Saturday, the construction crew will deliver and assist Dominic with setting up a sandbox at the Filippini home as a memento.
