FOND DU LAC — Last Thursday afternoon, Fond Du Lac Fire/Rescue showed reporters what firefighters go through on a daily basis at Media Day.
Reporters experienced a fire demonstration, putting out a simulated fire with a real hose.
Other lessons included using the Jaws of Life to rescue someone from a crash and learning how to do a rope rescue by rappelling down a building.
"It gives them a sense of how to report it accurately, so the viewing public has a better understanding of what our profession all entails,” says Asst. Chief of Training Jim Knowles.
Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue says the main goal is to build relationships.
