GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Friday’s Supreme Court ruling has caused a lot of emotions for pro-choice supporters across Northeast Wisconsin.

“I think it took me a few minutes to actually process what that meant,” said Stephanie Guzman.

Several local women who went to Karvana Coffee in Green Bay shared their feelings with NBC 26.

"We felt pain. We felt hurt. We felt disappointment. We felt fear and we needed a place to put that. We need to know we're not alone,” said Stacey Burkhart.

“It's devastating for women, families to rule back rights we’ve had for generations. This is going to impact millions and millions of people," said representative Kristina Shelton.

Many of them used their art to express those emotions.

"Art does have that healing effect. Art allows us to project our voice where we may not otherwise been able to speak,” Burkhart said.

And for Adrianna Pokela, this ruling hits close to home.

"I have had an abortion and if I did not have that abortion, I probably would not be here today due to the abuse that I was facing with the person I was with,” Pokela said.

Pokela said it wasn't an easy decision and it is one she's had to life with.

"I had to go through this alone, and it is not something easy, and our opposers always seem to think its just easy breezy. That it’s a form of birth control when its not,” Pokela said.

She's now a mother of a little boy and said her son means the world to her.

She goes on to say that her abortion then has made her become the strong mother she is today.

"It wasn't a fun experience, but I would go through it again knowing what I became, where I came from and how strong it made me,” Pokela said.

So as the sun sets on a very historical day, pro-choice advocates said while they hurt today, tomorrow they will rise.
