KIEL, Wis. (NBC 26) - A family is safe after their home caught fire in Kiel Wednesday night during a storm.
The Kiel Fire Department was called to the 600 block of 10th Street for reports of smoke and flames. Firefighters were able to contain the flames within ten minutes after arriving on scene.
The residents were home at the time of the fire, and were able to evacuate safely. No one was hurt.
The fire department believes the fire was caused by a lightning strike. Damage is estimated at $75,000.
