KIEL (NBC 26) -- The deaths of three people found in a Kiel home back in May has now been officially deemed a murder-suicide, according to a news release from the Manitowoc County Coroner’s Office.
On May 26, the bodies of 50-year-old Julie A. Wood, 10-year-old Mason Lesczykowski and 69-year-old Jack G. Schigur were found in a home on Southridge Drive in the city of Kiel. Authorities said Schigur and Wood were in a relationship and were both living at the home.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice – Division of Criminal Investigation (DOJ), Kiel Police Department, Wisconsin State Crime Lab and the Manitowoc County Coroner’s Office investigated the deaths. Autopsies were performed at the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s office.
A news release from Manitowoc County Coroner Curtis Green stated that Julie Wood and Mason Lesczykowski died from gunshot wounds to the head. Their deaths were ruled a homicide.
Jack Schigur died from a gunshot wound to the head that was self-inflicted. His death is ruled a suicide. The news release stated the weapon used in this case was a .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun, which was owned and registered to Schigur.
The Manitowoc County Coroner did not release any other information in the news release issued Wednesday.
