MARINETTE (NBC 26) -- As President Trump prepares to visit the Fincantieri Marinette Marine shipyard, former Vice President Joe Biden's campaign released a statement criticizing the visit.

"Today, Donald Trump is in Marinette to take credit for Obama-Biden Administration-fueled successes in an attempt to paper over the fact that Wisconsin has been bleeding blue-collar manufacturing jobs over the past few weeks. Instead of offering real relief to working families, he’s trying to claim credit for progress in Marinette he did not build," the statement says in part.

President Trump is scheduled to arrive at the Green Bay Austin Straubel Airport Thursday afternoon to visit the Marinette Marine Shipyard and give remarks. Ahead of that President Trump is scheduled to speak at an hour-long Town Hall at 1:30 hosted by Sean Hannity of Fox News.

This is President Trump's 8th visit to Wisconsin since taking office in 2016.

The Trump campaign also released a statement prior to the President's visit, saying Donald Trump supports the people of Wisconsin. The campaign noted several examples of support, such as shipping PPE to Wisconsin during the coronavirus pandemic and approving major disaster and National Guard funding requests to provide federal support to the state's coronavirus response.
