GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- Food company JBS USA announced Wednesday it will be donating $1 million to projects in Green Bay.
JBS USA said in a news release that it’s working with local leaders to identify where the funds can best help meet community needs in three key areas: food insecurity, community infrastructure and well-being and COVID-19 response and relief efforts.
This announcement comes a few months after a cluster of coronavirus cases was identified at the company’s meat production facility.
“Our focus during the past few months has been on keeping our team members safe and healthy, and we remain committed to keeping COVID-19 out of our facility,” said Hicham Timejardine, JBS Green Bay plant manager.
All projects will be determined by the end of the year, JBS says. Community members may send suggested proposals for investment to hometownstrong@jbssa.com.
