GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — The National Railroad Museum is hosting its Junior Engineers Camp through Friday, July 15 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. Campers at this level are about 8-11 years old.

The Museum says railroad camps are unique and exciting ways for youngsters to learn more about railroad history while engaging in positive, educational activities.

On Monday, following a train ride, the train engineer gave campers a tour of the driver's compartment of the locomotive and see how the engine works. On Tuesday, campers will take turns operating a vintage handcar on the train tracks.

On Thursday, campers will engage in STEM activities that teach them about aerodynamics, mass, and velocity. On Friday, campers will crash test their handmade cardboard trains.
