GREEN BAY, Wis. (NBC26) -- The Hotel Northland is being recognized for its work in restoration.

The Hotel Northland has a unique history in Green Bay. The Hotel first opened its doors in March of 1924 and closed in the early 1970's.

In the 70's the building was converted into apartments. The building transformed again in the 1980s when the building became a senior housing. It was branded as the “Port Plaza Towers.” The building eventually closed and was abandoned for roughly 10 years.

During that time, it took years for the project to get underway, but finally re-opened on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2019.

Visitors can take a tour of the Hotel Northland on the 1st and 10th of each month at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. For more information, Click HERE.
