A man was arrested after a high speed chase with police Monday night, according to Fox Valley Metro Police.
Police said at around 9:30 p.m. Monday, officers spotted someone driving about 100 mph in a 25 mph zone in Kimberly. Police tried to pull over the vehicle, but it drove off. According to police, the vehicle crossed the community bridge into Little Chute at about 108 mph.
Police said the vehicle ran through traffic lights, passed other vehicles unsafely and drove on the wrong side of the road. Eventually, police said the vehicle left the roadway and crashed into an unoccupied garage.
Payton Meloy, 28 of Hortonville, was arrested on fleeing charges, as well as OWI and meth possession. He is currently in the Outagamie County Jail.
An officer received minor injuries while trying to get Meloy out of the vehicle to give him first aid. Police said the officer was treated by Gold Cross Ambulance and was released.
