Highway Patrol confirms at least 4 crashes on I-41 within a quarter mile of each other near Appleton

APPLETON, Wis. (NBC 26) — Saturday night's snowfall played a role in issues on Northeast Wisconsin roads on Sunday morning.

The Wisconsin State Highway Patrol confirms at least four car crashes occurred within a quarter mile of each other around 10:45 a.m. near the Ballard Road overpass on southbound Interstate 41 in the Appleton area.

There were no injures.

According to Sergeant Erik Heinz, an emergency helicopter landed at one of the scenes. State Patrol handled three of the accidents, while the Appleton Police Department responded to one.
