Ice artisans are starting to grow and harvest ice that will be used to build the Lake Geneva ice castles in January.

It will take artisans around six weeks of hand-placing up to 10,000 icicles daily to create the acre-sized frozen wonderland.

Lake Geneva has had ice castles the past two years, and each year they drew in large crowds. However, this year, the castles will operate at reduced capacity due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The castles will feature slides, fountains, caves, tunnels, and crawl spaces built entirely from ice.

The Lake Geneva Ice Castles are expected to open in mid-to-late-January. A very limited amount of tickets are already on sale and can be purchased here.
