Group of teenage boys accused of invading Shawano home

SHAWANO — Five teenage boys are facing criminal charges after a woman told police they forced their way into her home and went after her grandson.

According to the Shawano Police Department, a woman called police on Wednesday to report that a group of teenage boys had broken into her home, went upstairs and accosted her grandson. Police say the boys ran away before officers got to the scene. One person in the home was reportedly hurt. Shawano Police also say this was a targeted incident.

The next day, police arrested five teenagers: two 14-year-old Green Bay boys, a 15-year-old Shawano boy and two 13-year-old Shawano boys. Police say the boys are being referred to social services for burglary, person arms self with a dangerous weapon while still in the burglarized enclosure; robbery, dangerous weapon; disorderly conduct; and, criminal trespass to a dwelling.

Shawano Police say the boys were taken to a secure juvenile detention facility. Police continue to investigate the home invasion.
