Green Bay teen accused of sexual assault in UW-Madison residence hall

MADISON (NBC 26) — A 17-year-old from Green Bay is accused of committing a sexual assault in a residence hall at UW-Madison.

According to the UW–Madison Police Department, officers responded to a southeast residence hall for a report of a sexual assault at around 3:00 a.m. Friday.

Police said the victim told investigators that she was sleeping and woke up to the suspect assaulting her. The victim and suspect are acquaintances, police said.

Police said the 17-year-old suspect was arrested on tentative charges of second-degree sexual assault. He was booked into the Dane County Jail on Friday afternoon.

According to police, he was visiting another resident at the time of the assault and is not affiliated with UW-Madison.
