GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- The City of Green Bay announced Friday that it has handed out all available sandbags as part of a distribution program.

The city said it's now ending the program, as there are no more sandbags available. Green Bay recently announced that it had purchased 10,000 sandbags to be given away to City residents.

The sandbags were to be used to allow residents to protect their homes against storm waters in the event of flooding.

Green Bay said that as of Friday, all the sandbags were handed out. The city is shutting down the sandbag distribution center at 420 South Broadway.
