GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- A person has died after being pulled from a house fire in Green Bay on Tuesday, officials say.
The Green Bay Metro Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 2958 West Point Road. According to a news release, crews learned that someone was inside the home.
Crews faced heavy smoke conditions as they worked to find the person in the home and pulled them to safety. The person was taken to the hospital where officials said the victim succumbed to their injuries and died.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, as the Green Bay Metro Fire Marshal’s Office is working with the Green Bay Police Department to determine the cause.
