GREEN BAY, Wis. — Green Bay Police are searching for the owner of what they call "a small Shi Tzu type dog" that they say bit a young girl on Wednesday.
Police say the girl was bit while walking westbound on Shawano Avenue, between 3 and 3:30pm, near West High School.
Green Bay Police say the dog was small white and tan shih tzu or similar breed dog and was being walked by an older female with gray hair, glasses, and a white coat.
Police are looking for the owner to confirm that the dog has been vaccinated for rabies.
"This would prevent the young lady who was bitten from having to go through painful and unnecessary rabies exposure shots," Green Bay Police say in a news release.
Anyone who may know the owner and dog can call police at 920-448-3208.
