GREEN BAY -- Green Bay Police helped build a home on Wednesday.

Police said officers from the west side community partnered with Habitat for Humanity to help build a home on Debra Lane.

For some of the officers, the build was a learning experience.

"I learned a lot out here, including how to cap a foundation,” said Lt. Steve Mahoney. “This is a very fulfilling and rewarding experience that I would recommend for everyone to try at least once."

Since 1987, Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity has helped over 100 families realize their dream of owning a home.
