GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- The city of Green Bay is seeing a dramatic increase in the number of shootings in the city.
Just this week, two people suffered gunshot wounds after a shooting in the area of 9th street and South Ashland Avenue on the city’s west side.
Then over on the east side, a person was hospitalized with a gunshot wound after a shooting in the area of Saint George and Berner Street. The Green Bay chief of police says they know who's behind uptick in violence.
"There's typically a number of shootings in Green Bay, but this year we've seen real a spike,” said Chief Andrew Smith. “We've attributed that spike to 21 individuals that we've identified that are involved in an ongoing dispute with each other. They're not gang members, but they are a group of individuals that doesn't get along with another group, and because of petty disputes over dating of women, over disrespect, things of that nature, they're shooting at each other."
The chief wants to remind everyone that if you see something or have any information about these shootings to call the police or call crime stoppers and you can remain anonymous.
