GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- Leaders of Green Bay Packaging said construction of a new mill is right on schedule.
At a news conference Monday, leaders said the $500 million investment will bring at least 200 new employees to their facility.
They say it’s one of the largest economic development projects in Brown County history.
"The directive was if we can figure out a way to make this work in the city of Green Bay with our current employees, working with the state, the city, and the county and build that type of partnership, that type of investment, and put it here, we should do it. We've been able to do that and we're very excited about it,” said Bryan Hollenbach with Green Bay Packaging.
Leaders say the project still has a long way to go. The new paper machine will start in the first quarter of 2021.
