The suspect in Monday night's deadly stabbing, which Green Bay Police called a random act, is not expected in court until late next week.

The man is being held in a secure facility and is being evaluated, police said. A police supervisor would not elaborate. Investigators are awaiting toxicology results for the suspect.

The unidentified suspect is accused of stabbing a female bartender at a bar on Broadway Street in downtown Green Bay. The woman then fled to another bar nearby to take refuge. According to police, the suspect followed the victim in his vehicle, crashing into the building and almost hitting a bar patron.

Police said the suspect then fled south on Broadway Street, but got caught in a line of cars waiting for a train to pass through. Police said the suspect tried to get into several cars and managed to gain entry into a 70-year-old man's vehicle. Police said that during a struggle, the driver was stabbed several times and the driver later died.

The attacks against both the bartender and the man in the car were random acts, police said. Police also said random acts like this are extremely rare.
