GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Firefighters responded to a fatal house fire that displaced three people Saturday afternoon.
The Green Bay Metro Fire Department said the fire happened at 822 Harrison Street.
Firefighters said light smoke was coming from the first floor and basement. They said the fire was under control and extinguished within 10 minutes.
One victim was found unresponsive, according to first responders. They were taken to the hospital where they later died due to their injuries.
The Department said three other people were displaced due to the fire and smoke damage, which is estimated at $40,000.
Firefighters determined the fire started in the basement. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
