GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Firefighters said three people were displaced from their apartment Saturday morning.
Green Bay Metro Fire Department said the fire happened on the 3700 block of Wildcat Trail.
First responders reported heavy smoke inside the apartment that was spilling outside. Crews were able to quickly put out the fire. They said the fire originated in the kitchen and did not spread to the rest of the home.
The apartment's three residents were displaced as firefighters said the apartment is uninhabitable due to fire and smoke damage. Adjoining unit residents were allowed to return to their home.
The Department reports unattended cooking on the stove top as the cause of the fire.
