GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport announced Monday it has received a "gold standard" for clean facilities.

GRB says in a news release it has received Global Biorisk Advisory Council’s STAR accreditation, the gold standard for facilities.

The accreditation validates that GRB follows the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention in its facilities.

GRB says it is the first airport in Wisconsin to earn GBAC STAR accreditation.

To achieve GBAC STAR accreditation, GRB says it showed compliance with the program’s 20 core elements, which range from standard operating procedures and risk assessment strategies to personal protective equipment and emergency preparedness and response measures.

GBAC is a Division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association.
