SHAWANO (NBC 26) — Governor Tony Evers was in Shawano Friday for a roundtable discussion on broadband expansion in Wisconsin. Now more than ever people are relying on the Internet for telehealth and remote working.
"This is one of those issues I've never viewed as a democrat or republican issue. This is flat out like electricity, it's like making sure that you have good telephone service, and you just need to have good broadband,” said Gov. Evers.
The Governor hosted a roundtable discussion at the Aging and Disability Resource Center Wolf River Region and Shawano County Health and Human Services building regarding expanding healthcare access through investing in broadband expansion in Wisconsin.
He was joined by Public Service Commission Commissioner Tyler Huebner, among others, as they discussed telehealth and broadband access in the area.
