DENMARK (NBC 26) — As a special thank you to teachers in the Denmark area, a sweet treat is waiting for them at Ampersand Cake Co.
Wednesday, the custom cake and retail shop gave away several cupcakes. They were for any teacher or staff member from the Denmark School District and All Saints Catholic School.
The shop's owner thought it was a great way to say thank you.
"The start of the school year is tough no matter what on teachers," said Jennifer Treu. "I actually taught music for several years, it's something that's really not strange for me. So putting myself in their position, even the staff, the administrative staff, custodial staff, I can't imagine having to start the school year. We're just really grateful they're willing to start and take care of our kids and take all the precautions they need to. So we thought we'd share some treats with them."
If you're a teacher in the Denmark area and missed out Wednesday, don't worry. Ampersand Cake Co. will be offering free cupcakes again for staff Friday from 2-6 p.m. All you have to do is show your school ID, take a cupcake, and enjoy.
