FOND DU LAC (NBC 26) — Free testing for COVID-19 will be available to anyone age five and older at the new Fond du Lac County Highway Garage both Friday and Saturday.
Fond du Lac Co. Highway Garage is located at 1820 S. Hickory Street in Fond du Lac. Testing is scheduled for Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with no appointments necessary.
Health officials are encouraging everyone to be tested, even if you are not experiencing symptoms. They said to contact a pediatrician or healthcare provider for testing children under the age of five.
According to health officials, no identification is necessary. You will be asked your name, birth date, address, phone number, race, ethnicity and gender. Minors need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian who can consent to testing.
Testing staff remind everyone to wear a mask when coming for testing and follow the signage on site. Staff also said that people without a vehicle are able to still be tested on-site. Anyone with a vehicle through drive-thru are asked to remain in the vehicle throughout the entire process.
Staff said they will be working with the Wisconsin National Guard, the Fond du Lac Co. Health Department, Fond du lac Co. and Agnesian HealthCare, along with a member of SSM Health.
According to contact testing staff, people who test negative will be emailed with a secure link to view and print results and people who test positive will be called directly.
