APPLETON (NBC 26) -- Fox Valley Technical College and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College announced Thursday they are both extending spring break.
FVTC says in an email received by students that they have decided to extend spring break by one week, move courses to online teaching and postpone large events on the campuses for the safety of the community.
FVTC staff say students in courses that are unable to be moved to an online format will be determined on a case-by-case basis once classes resume.
NWTC is extending spring break to March 28 to allow the campus to prepare alternative methods, wherever possible, for completing classes for those unable to attend class due to coronavirus.
No credit bearing NWTC courses will be offered during the week of March 22-28. Non-credit bearing and apprenticeship courses will continue as scheduled. All campuses will remain open with spring break hours of operation continued into the second week. NWTC classes will resume the week of Sunday, March 29.
NWTC students are asked to make sure they have essential items in case they're not able to return to campus immediately, such as medications or items related to coursework.
Updates regarding NWTC’s coronavirus response will continue to be shared via blackboard, email and on the emergency response website. Students with concerns related to coronavirus or the college decisions are asked to email covid19@nwtc.edu.
