APPLETON (NBC 26) — The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley announced they have continued sponsorship for the Summer Food Service Program.
"The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), which is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and is administered by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, provides nutritious meals to children during the summer, when free and reduced-price school meals are typically unavailable," explains the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley.
"Free meals will be made available to children 18 years of age and under," continue the Clubs. "Persons over 18 years of age who are determined by a state or local public educational agency to be mentally or physically disabled and who also participate in a public or private non-profit school program during the regular school year may receive free meals as well."
Organizers say meals from this summer program will be served at the Boys & Girls Clubs in Appleton and Menasha from June 8 to August 14. Meals will be available for pickup Monday through Friday from 8:20 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and noon to 1 p.m.
The Clubs say their temporary summer Teen Center, located at OuterEdge Stage in downtown Appleton, is also serving meals the same dates. Meals will be available there Monday through Friday from 11:15 a.m. to noon and 4:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
