APPLETON (NBC 26) — The Fox Cities COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic has partnered with Appleton Beer Factory, McFleshman’s and Stone Arch Brewpub to run a “shot and beer” campaign in one last effort to encourage vaccinations before the clinic closes at its current location on May 27.

The FCCVC will be providing the Johnson&Johnson vaccine on May 11 and 12. Recipients of the one-shot vaccine will receive a coupon for a free beer at any of the three Appleton breweries. The coupon may be redeemed in the month of June 2021 to assure full immunity prior to going to an indoor setting. Those under 21 may redeem the coupon for a free root beer or soda.

"We think it's clever enough that it might get people's attention. If they're on the fence, now's the time to get the J&J," said Kurt Eggebrecht, health officer for Appleton Health Department. "It's a one-time dose, and they're fully protected. We're really hoping that people take advantage of this."

Vaccination appointments can be made online at www.foxcitiescovidvaccine.com.
