Police tactical situation ends peacefully in Fond du Lac

FOND DU LAC (NBC 26) -- A situation that involved police calling in SWAT ended peacefully Wednesday.

Fond du Lac Police said officers responded at around 6:38 a.m. to the 100 block of Hamilton Place for reports of shots fired. Officers arriving on scene heard gunshots, police said. As officers were able to determine where the gunshots were coming from, the gunshots stopped.

Police said officers were unable to make contact with the suspected shooter. The Fond du Lac Police Department activated their SWAT and Crisis Negotiation teams.

Crisis Negotiators eventually learned that two males and one female were inside the home. At 11:40 a.m., all three people in the home came out peacefully. No one was reported injured.

Fond du Lac Police have turned over this scene to its Criminal Investigation Division. Police said the incident is currently under investigation.
