Fond du Lac Police investigating homicide of 40-year-old man

FOND DU LAC (NBC 26) — UPDATE: The deceased 40-year-old male was identified as Brandon A. Johnson. The family has been notified and the case remains under investigation.

The death of a 40-year-old man is under investigation in Fond du Lac, police said in a news release Saturday.

According to Fond du Lac Police, officers responded to a 9-1-1 call Saturday morning around 7:20 a.m. The call reported a person laying on the ground on the 200 block of Marquette Street.

When officers arrived, they found a 40-year-old man from the Fond du Lac area dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Fond du Lac Police said detectives responded to the scene and are investigating the circumstances that led up to the man's death. The Fond du Lac Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy on the victim to determine the exact cause and manner of death. The identity of the deceased is not being released at this time, pending family notification.

Detectives are working to identify possible suspects. At this time, no suspect(s) have been taken into custody. Police continue to canvass the area.
