GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Police Department is monitoring the heavy rains and potential flooding issues throughout the City of Green Bay.

Police say the 300 block of South Ashland is closed because of high water. Officers are at the street blocking traffic until barricades can be put in.

Police say other areas of concern are Clinton and Broadway, the 100 block of Antoinette Street, and areas of Cass and Goodell on the East Side.

Residents are asked to avoid those and other possible areas of high water and are being reminded not to drive through it.

According to meteorologists, this month there has been almost four and a half inches of rainfall, which is two inches above average for the month of May.
