SUAMICO (NBC 26) -- A park in Suamico has received several upgrades this Spring. Fireman's Park is located 1740 Riverside Drive in Suamico. It is crossways to the new Suamico Fire Department that is currently under construction.
The Village administrator, Alex Kaker, says these upgrades give more free public access to the Suamico River for residents and guests to enjoy.
The project first got started with grants from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Fox River/Green Bay Natural Resource Trustee Council. The project then finally breaking ground last fall and wrapping up this spring.
There is a canoe/kayak launch, a lighted parking lot, paved path, and a boardwalk that connects the park to small businesses in the historic downtown Suamico area.
