WAUPACA COUNTY (NBC 26) -- Issues with a building furnace brought firefighters to a local animal shelter on Wednesday.
The Humane Society of Waupaca County posted on its Facebook page that a worn belt in one of the building's furnaces led to some smoke filling part of the building. The shelter said all the dogs were immediately moved to safety. The cat side of the building was completely unaffected.
The fire department arrived and helped clear the building of smoke. The furnace has since been repaired.
