APPLETON, Wis. (NBC 26) -- The Appleton Fire Department battled a kitchen fire on the southeast side of the city.
It happened at a home at around 11 a.m. Monday on the 2100 block of East Lourdes Drive.
When crews arrived on scene they found light smoke coming from vents in the roof.
Inside the home crews found dark smoke and fire on the kitchen counter, cabinets and stove top.
Crews quickly extinguished the fire and ventilated the smoke.
One cat was provided oxygen by firefighters on the scene.
No injuries were reported.
The fire remains under investigation.
