BELLEVUE (NBC 26) — Law enforcement officers in Brown County were busy Friday packing their cars with groceries.
The Green Bay Police, along with Ashwaubenon Public Safety and Brown County Sheriff's officers, teamed up for the seventh annual Fill the Cruiser event at Pick'n Save grocery stores in Bellevue, Green Bay and Ashwaubenon.
They were collecting donations of pre-packaged bags of the most requested items from shelters.
"So, this store alone today we're almost 450-500 bags just today at just this store. If you were to add that up with the 2 other stores, we have received a lot of bags which is always our goal."
All the donations collected Friday will be used to help those in need at the NEW Community Shelter.
