MANITOWOC COUNTY (NBC 26) — A deadly crash in Manitowoc County is under investigation.
The crash was reported just before 6:30 p.m. Dec. 30 within the town of Kossuth. The Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office said deputies and emergency responders were sent to a two-vehicle crash on Polifka Road, west of Popelar Road.
The Sheriff's Office said a preliminary investigation revealed 57-year-old Richard Dufek was operating a Ford 1110 utility tractor westbound when he was struck from behind by a 2007 Toyota Camry, operated by 60-year-old Julie Zipperer. The Sheriff's Office said Dufek was thrown from the tractor and pronounced dead at the scene. Zipperer had minor injuries.
The Sheriff's Office isn't releasing any other information at this time, only saying that the crash is under investigation.
