APPLETON, Wis (NBC 26) -- On Thursday in Appleton, a new drive-thru COVID-19 testing site opened. Public health officials say the Appleton North High School testing site will be open three days a week, from 8 am to 4 pm, running through early December.

Right now, the National Guard who is running the operation is capable of testing as many as 300 people a day for free according to Appleton Health Department's Kurt Eggebrecht.

"It's really important that the limited resources we have, that we have really expressed interests in people who are symptomatic coming to this site, and then anybody that's in contact with someone who's tested positive."

Test results are usually available within 3 to 7 days and health officials ask that those who were tested, to limit their contact with others during that time. If you plan on getting tested it is recommended to pre-register for the test online, if you would like to do so check out this link.
