DOOR COUNTY (NBC 26) — The victim and suspected driver in an apparent hit-and-run over the weekend have both been identified.

The Door County Sheriff's Office said 71-year-old Marilyn J. Vandenbogart from Sturgeon Bay died in a vehicle-pedestrian crash that occurred on Saturday on Highway BB (Gordon Rd.), west of Old Highway Road in the town of Sevastopol.

An autopsy was conducted on Monday at the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office in Green Bay. The results of the autopsy are not yet available, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office identified the suspected driver as 43-year-old Joshua J. Gann of Sturgeon Bay.

Gann appeared in Door County Circuit Court on Monday for a bond hearing on the charge of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, a class D felony. Gann is currently being held in the Door County Jail on a $500,000 cash bond. His initial appearance on this charge will be held on Thursday,

The sheriff's office also took a moment in Tuesday's statement to clarify the location of the crash. The sheriff's office said the incident was NOT related to the intersection of Highway 42-57 and Gordon Road.
