Dog killed, man sent to hospital after hit by car in Kohler

KOHLER, Wis. (NBC 26) -- Kohler Police say a dog was killed and a man was sent to the hospital after being hit by a car Thursday evening.

According to the report, two men were walking a dog on the side of the road along School Street at Aspen Road in Kohler.

The report says the vehicle hit a 37-year-old man and the dog. The man was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other man, a 43-year-old, was uninjured.

The dog died while being transported to the Emergency Animal Hospital in Port Washington, located about 28 miles away.

The driver, a 61-year-old man and Kohler resident, stayed on the scene and was cooperative in the investigation.

No further information has been released.
